Case Study of Deep Excavation of High-Rise Building - Non-Shoring Method at the Last Stage of the Top-Down Construction

This article introduces one 37-story above ground and 6-story underground building.  The bottom excavation elevation is 24.5m below grade.  After the base level 5 completed, the construction continued without the traditional steel buttress supports in the final 7.65m excavation.  This is the so-called Un-shoring Method.
This new way of construction is completed.  The construction fees are approximately equivalent for both traditional and the new method of excavation.  However, the schedule could be reduced for around 1.5 months in the above mentioned case.
